I'd like to believe my work can be appreciated for its emotional core, its storytelling, the vibrant colors and the explorations of the human soul and body. My favorite media include colored pencils, crayons, aquarelle and risograph printing.

About me
I’m Zoé Kovács, an illustrator from Hungary, currently based in Rotterdam. My dearest hobby is researching Eastern European, and specifically Hungarian folk traditions. I find folk art compelling because the authorless, nameless works that constitute the bulk of this genre of art have the power to be extremely intimate and personal in their nature, but at the same time they’re able to achieve a universal relatability with their simplicity and rawness.
I believe my interest in the subject can be felt in all my work. I take special care in my work to accentuate its emotional core, its storytelling, the vibrant colors and the explorations of the human soul and body. My favorite media include, colored pencils, crayons, aquarelle and risograph printing.
